The "upgrade" can only be described as a downgrade; Yahoo Mail is now all-around worse. I don't want Yahoo Mail Basic but I do want to revert back to what I had before. Since you're not going to return Yahoo Mail to something good, though, some things that need to be fixed immediately are:
- stop defaulting to the Priority tab
* Who even knows how "Priority" is determined? I certainly don't know, and the label is completely wrong regarding my email. The default tab should be "All" and/or users should be able to set their default tab, which can't be done now.
- stop defaulting the Folders to be closed/collapsed
* The default setting for the Folders should be opened/expanded and/or users should be able to set their Folder preference, which can't be done now.
- there should be a number to the right of Inbox that shows how many unread emails are in the folder, regardless of the label (i.e. Priority, Offers, Social, or Newsletters) they're mis-assigned to
- if users hover the mouse over Inbox, they should be shown the number of how many emails are in their inbox
- give users the option to have Archive, Spam, and/or Trash listed by default (like Inbox, Starred, Sent, and Drafts are)
- give users a trash can to the right of both Spam and Trash so that they can be cleared without requiring the user to enter the folder
