return to "WYSIWYG copy format" for portfolio stock prices
Presumably this will disappear into the Yahoo black-hole to join all my (and others) previous comments?
But, who knows?
Maybe it will do some good?.....if not, c'est la vie!
I'm sorry to say that over recent years, Yahoo has slipped from being outstandingly the best source of stock market data presentation and stock price updating, to being only marginally OK.
This is the worst of your update failings:-
Before your recent bunch of website “improvements“ I had a few stock portfolios saved
eg:- https://au.finance.yahoo.com/portfolio/pf_2/view
and updating prices daily into my spreadsheet was a simple, efficient, 4 step procedure:-
select>copy>select>paste , per portfolio..
Because “copy” was a classic “wysiwyg” process (what you see is what you get”).
Nowadays, ”copy” is NOT a “wysiwyg” process.
A 1-line per stock listing copies as a 2-lines per stock listing, unusable without re-formatting.
So now I need a 14 step procedure per portfolio, for my daily update.
(even more steps the first time, when I needed to set-up the spreadsheet sort facility):-
select>copy>select>paste> [copy data into spreadsheet work area]
select>shift>select>range>sort>OK> [the re-formatting exercise]
select> paste> [finally paste data into spreadsheet]
select>delete [clean-up the re-formatting work area]
Why do you regard a “non-wysiwyg” copying to the clipboard as an “improvement” ?
The reasoning escapes me! I'm not impressed!
