reply dialog box rarely opens
When I click on a story, either on the headline or on the reply box, it rarely opens the reply box. Instead, one of the following happens:
I have to refresh several times before the box opens.
The box opens saying "Be the first to reply" when I know there are replies.
The box appears and then disappears.
Then when I type in the box, I get a "Network error - try again later" error message. Sometimes the post works, but I don't see it. Most of the time, the post never happens. Sometimes I have to hit SEND 20 times before I see it post. And then I find that maybe 5 times out of the 20, a post happened, so I get 5 copies of it.
Sometimes my final version of my post has my final few changes missing when it posts.
The error message happens most in the early afternoon, and least at night.
Fix it so that it works every time.

I found a way to get the posting dialog box more often: I open several tabs of the same page. At least one of them usually has the box.
And Yahoo found a way to keep me from doing it. They time out my session because I left the main tab to pose the comment in the other tab.
I am sick of greedy systems that don't let you do what you need to do to get them to work.

After reading about some of these troubles and experiencing many of the same I have to conclude that nobody monitors these pages and it is a total waste of time to complain here.

Some articles never let me completely post. It looks like I posted, but the post never appears in my history, and I can't reply to the post. Once I leave the article page, I can't see my post again. All of them have Yahoo authors.

A new trick: It tries to post me as Anonymous instead of me. If I post that way, I never see the post again.

It is only the pages that have the colored circle links to social media along the left edge that malfunction in this way. Clicking the circle either does nothing, moves the circle up an inch or so, or opens the comments dialog box. Often it takes a long time to open the box.
The ones with the colored square links to social media at the bottom of the article and the ones with no links either do not display the comments box at all or immediately displays the comments box.

It is now taking from 15 minutes to an hour before the comments dialog box actually opens on some pages.

I just discovered something. I accidentally turned off my antivirus/antispam software's Internet protection. While it was off, the comments section of Yahoo News started working,
But I can't leave my computer unprotected from malware. I had to turn it back on.
Either Yahoo is sending malware which the software blocks, or Yahoo is objecting to the content being scanned.
Don't tell me to use different software. I don't get to choose. The sysop chooses.
Stop doing whatever you are doing that prevents people with virus protection from posting.
Posting works just fine on this feedback site, so the problem is not with my computer or our local network.

It hasn't given me a post dialog box since last Friday. Posting on this feedback forum works fine. So the problem is with Yahoo News.
The posting dialog box never appears.
If this suddenly fixes itself after December 12, I will know it is a blatant attempt by Yahoo and its co-owned Huffypost fake news site to bias the Alabama election.
Reporters are not journalists anymore. They are biased because they want Obamacare for themselves. Wire service reporters don';t get benefits because they are not employees.

A clue: The colored round circles at the left side of the news story page do not display as links to something on desktop computers. They display as included objects with no clickable function.

Today I have not seen the comment dialog box at all. It never appears.
All you care about is your stupid advertisers, not your readers.

Will it take a lawsuit to get Yahoo to make its comments dialog box open every time?????
It is bad enough that Yahoo is slanted so far to the left. Keeping people from dissenting to your liberal agenda is a First Amendment violation.
People are getting mad.

Now I am getting the reply dialog box very rarely. I am surprised when I can make comments at all.
But it always fills up the useless right side bar before filling the story lines below the article. and it won't show the comment dialog box until all of those fill up.
Give us a way to entirely remove the right bar. The only necessary part of it is the link to this page.
I think you are expecting to be the only user of resources running on the computer. But in many cases, you are not the primer user. Other programs running in the background are the primary users. The browser user is using what remains.
Stop being a memory hog. Or load the features the users want to use in first, not last.
I use an ad blocker, not to get rid of ads, but to keep your site from using all of the memory and CPU time it can hog. The site won't even work without the ad blocker being on.
So stop complaining about ad blockers. If the ads weren't hogging all of the resources, I would not have installed the ad blocker.
Unwanted videos really soak up the resources. Do not start them.
I keep a blacklist of ads that interfere with computer use. I will not deal with thise businesses because their ads are selfish.

The reply dialog box is appearing less and less often.
Is your software expecting users to have the latest lightning-fast internet access and penalizing people with slow access (which often depends on where you live)?
Or are the ultra-liberal Yahoo employees doing things to prevent conservatives from having their First Amendment free speed rights?
FIX IT!
