Stop censoring your subscribers. Either suspend publishing news 100% or stop the comment prohibition. This is a * horrible way to do things. Enragingly stupid actually.

Yahoo "News?" is the worst one about not letting people have opinions or open discussions, they only report what they want to with no commentary from the public depending on the topic, but you can comment whenever & however you like if it's about what one of the kardashian's ate for breakfast.

Innocuous left leaning comments are being rejected out of turn, or held for approval for weeks. Censorship much? What a joke.

I get tired of my comments being deleted because your moderators do not like certain words ie: "crook" "***" etc. I have had these words / acronyms blocked and have symbols inserted but it is OK for Yahoo to post an article with "***" or other words that I have had blocked. The comments should not be blocked unless there are words of violence directed toward another poster.

Even though you suspend the posting of comments on an article. The comments should still be shown so viewers are able to see the opinions of other readers. this is important.

Unshadowban me. It's been 2 years since my comments stopped showing up on anything. You aren't Google, few care about you anymore Yahoo, your financial choices lacked and so you have fallen. Remove my shadowban or one less person will support your obsolete company. Also this is the worst customer support page I've ever seen, everything is public, well done boneheads.

Your are as bad as FB is and Twitter is...and won't be, after Musk straightens it out. Simple cowardice on your part, in my opinion.

How can anyone "connect" about interests & passions without discussion? Suspending article commenting isn't improving "our" community experience, it only creates a monopoly on thought, as well as censoring the public's freedom of expression. The various viewpoints expressed in article commenting are mind provoking & imperative to freedom of speech, please reopen article commenting so we can share our points of view on a given topic!

Stop censoring Comments for common words and acronyms. I had a comment blocked because I used *** but Yahoo had an article with *** it. This was Unjust and very Wrong. My comment have been the truth but have been Blocked. Your Guidelines have gone WAY TOO FAR and have to be scaled back. Having too many comments about someone that Yahoo has an article is no reason to close the comments. Obviously the person being negatively commented on is a REAL ******* who is not liked by many people. Most of the comments that are Posted about that person are True. One example is Soros who is pathetic destructive and Dangerous person.

After reviewing to verify, I haven't violated any policies or terms and my account's comments are auto-rejected. This has been happening for quite some time now. I get a pop-up with the below info:

Your comment was rejected as it apparently was not aligned with our Community Guidelines

I just wrote some comments which your site automatically rejected, not even giving them as much as a review. Was it because I used the word "Rubbish" to characterize someone else's comment? Who knows? This sort of blind and dumb automatic censorship with no understanding of what you're reading -- because you're not actually reading it -- is going to get you in trouble, just like Twitter. Chances are there's no actual need to do this, not from a legal standpoint and not from a business standpoint, as you alienate a good share of your readership. You should be more transparent and highlight words or phrases, or at least give more helpful and explicit guidance than to point to your "community guidelines". Frankly, your policy is disgusting and thoroughly un-American.

Even though a lot of misinformation exist in the world, the burden of truth is only met with the individual willing to accept it, the world that enjoys freedom must be willing to let all express their views whether it be popular or not, setting guidelines at Yahoo to not allow threats or racial commentary is a good start to allow a divided world to start having a conversation again about things that really matter, things are never going to be fixed if there is no open exchange of ideas.

Yahoo's explanation of why there are no comments allowed on many stories: "Our goal is to create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions. In order to improve our community experience, we are temporarily suspending article commenting".
While you (Yahoo) are "improving our (your) community experience ", you're ruining mine! And, you're denying me my freedom of speech !!! How dare you!!!!! What kind of BS is this ?? Who are you (Yahoo) to police my opinions or comments. Where is the integrity of the whole editorial department - especially the decision makers ??
"A safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions". How the heck can we connect when you don't allow it ?? More BS --------- it just goes on and on. STOP IT!

Agree. If Yahoo wants people to read its stories, it MUST allow commenting on ALL of them. I have gotten to the point where I check to see if there is a comments section on a particular story. If there isn't, I find the story on another site that DOES allow commenting.
I posted this once before, but Yahoo obviously does not read these because nothing has changed.

Dear Yahoo,
Why on earth would you offer a feature for users to incorporate into their posts if you are only going to flag it for censorship? I used three LOL emojis and this is the message you gave me:
"Your comment contains an emoji and may not be published."
