Customize Local News
I would like to able to customize the news. For some reason, Yahoo believes I live in the Northeast and get tons of local news for Philadelphia...even though I live a thousand miles away.
Also, I would love to get rid of any news from ABC6...normally their "news" matches word-for-word their headline.

Your 'content preference' feature is a complete failure
Your 'content preference' feature sucks big time. I have marked several dozens of times my dislike for news related to rugby, tennis, and cricket and these keep popping up like mushrooms. Why on earth you offer a feature that does not work.

Local news unavailable
How about local news that is current or at least available? For 10 days I press local news tab and get cute little message "Oops! We are unable to access stories". If I can't access what I need, why have Yahoo?

Develop a Yahoo News WP app.
Lack of Windows Phone app for Yahoo news.
Yahoo News apps are great in iOS and Android but the company has keft its users on WP I cold by completely ignoring them and not releasing any windows phone app. Why cant yahoo develop an app for the Windows ecosystem now that it has more than 100 million users with WP and W10 combined. -
When I open a specific article & then come back I want it all to be in the same order. It's so annoying to have to find where I left off!!!

ads before each story are too much!
I agree with the comments that state there are way too many ads, and the same dumb laptop add is the only one playing on all the articles you can clikc on. I understand the need to advertize, but I am in the same group as those with longtime yahoo allegiance in order to pickup news quickly- and its a mix of news with other interesting stories. but every story has this 30 second ad- its too much. The review of ad placement
I was reading a news article on Yahoo news about a 9 week old baby who had been killed by his parents and left to decompose in his crib until his female parent complained about the smell, at which point his male parent put him in a garbage bad to dispose of him. Imagine my horror at the ad placement, right above the article, for "Odor Shield" garbage bags. Surely you could have someone review ad placement and check for appropriateness. This truly was a glaring mistake.

Blatently false news stories.
Remove" sponsored" news stories that are nothing more than advertisements from the news area. Yahoo lost all credibility when they started displaying ads in this fashion.

I would like to filter news stories so that I see ONLY articles from sources I want.
I would like to filter news stories so that I see ONLY articles from sources I want. For example, I don't want anything from takepart.com to be shown on MY list of articles.
In local news, I couldn't care less about what happens in the other end of the state. No regional stuff, just truly LOCAL news.
When I buy a local newspaper I don't have to buy several others from all over the state so why should I have to see them on Yahoo news?

Your auto-play adverts are a PITA. I have tried unsuccessfully to turn them off. Very annoying when listening to music from another source.
The local Murky News from San Jose is not as bad as Yahoo. Now, I check what trash the Melissa foundation has got to say then I close the web page.

Hi, your world news section is funny. You click Africa and get news about Swiss cows. Is there no revision? Or you click Europa and get news about penguins in Galapagos. LOL
