Return to the prior format, so that the Kardashian's/beaten animals/stupid human tricks and other trash news can be deleted from the feed.
Just return to the old format so that I can read what is interesting to me instead of having garbage news thrown into the feed.

Advertising
Too much advertising takes too much loading time and sends you somewhere you didn't choose to go. That's not what got you where you are today. Stay with your originality, quit taking so much advertising just to get more money. Once you loose your base the advertising won't matter. I am changing to a different home page, so you are now one less. Eventually you will be the only one left. BYE

Sometimes change is not good
I have been using Yahoo for over twenty years .. and have always trusted yahoo's main page but more and more when I click on a link on the main page I am finding virus's and malware links... I really miss the old Yahoo and the scroll arrows on the main page. I understand that advertisers is the main source of bringing in a profit but shouldn't it be an option for a premium pay service or something to avoid the dark side of the web that the site seems to be supporting now.

Remove people who are dishonest from your staff. Your reputation is all you have in the business world.
I would like at least 3 days notice before Katie Curic get fired. I want to take the day off and plan a backyard kegger to celebrate. She will never be effective again, now that she has shown herself to be a dishonorable liar. This can not be good for Yahoo!

No longer able to participate in ongoing conversations in Comments, due to removal of features (My Comments link, no comment history in profile, etc.) Yahoo clearly doesn't want users to discuss news stories, so I'll go elsewhere.

Bring back the old format
I know I'm beating a dead horse but, Yahoo, PLEASE LISTEN to your users & put the OLD format back for the home page. Having to click "read more" after you've clicked on the story to read it is asinine as is trash posing as news stories - could go on & on but you've already heard it. Why does England & Canada still have old format? I've taken to clicking on Canadian page to at least read the news - not good for current temp since I don't know conversion from C to F - LOL.
