Give Higher Seed an advantage in the playoffs
The common way to give advantage to higher seeds is by having them as bye in the first round of the playoffs, like an automatic semi-finals berth for the top 2 seeds. An alternative to this is to keep the 1v8-2v7-3v6-4v5 format in the first round but instead of starting the round 0:0, we can give advantage to the higher seeds (can be to the Top 4 or just the Top 2) by having them start with a 1:0 advantage. A close equivalent to this is requiring the lower seed to win the round by at least 2 categories to officially win the match.
