I have remained happy for years with My yahoo homepage, everything is and does what I need and want ... Today's email from you says your going to force a change on me that will effect my everyday life ...
I am not at all happy with how you forced changes to yahoo mail, but this is my home page your screwing with now. This is different.

This new format is truly a mess. I can truly find nothing redeeming compared to the old elegant, customization rich format we have had for years. The multiple column layout is hard on the eyes and difficult to scan for content. Content that has always worked no longer does and it just looks cheap - maybe that was the reason they did this change. The reminds me of the Microsoft stupidity that is Windows 8 and the reaction it received - notebook with Win 8 is just plain dumb when they do not give you the option of choosing your format and loosing functionality. I swore I would give Apple a try after my new 4 month old PC gets long in the tooth - I guess it is time to look at alternatives to MyYahoo and Yahoo mail as well. I am going to use the Canadian Yahoo for now and will then try MSN, ProtoPage, igHome and Win 8 apps for news.

Why change what was working. I'm going to have to start all over it seems. I may make Google my primary home page now. Also, you promised we could "go back" to the original if we didn't like the new Yahoo. Thanks for HIDING or BURYING that option.

As usual, you took something that worked fine and ruined it.

Some people are offering alternatives. BUT please remember some of us old folks are not computer savvy. We are not able to figure out all these alternatives to MY YAHOO. I need and want my old MY YAHOO. Otherwise I'm lost.

I'm configuring a ProtoPage. Seems pretty versatile. You can hover over headlines to see a preview. But PP lacks a couple of things.
1) The stock widget uses Yahoo Finance - no other choices. And guess what? The Yahoo widget will not show my mutual funds, only stocks (but, on Classic My Yahoo it shows me anything I want.
2) ProtoPage does not offer The New York Times Dining & Wine widget.
3) The weather widget uses Accuweather, which is fine, but it will only show one location at a time.
Yahoo, you folks are taking away a precious commodity from millions of users. I know you don't care - top down encouragement to stick it to use users. You new My Yahoo really does suck. It is NOT an upgrade, but a downgrade. What were you people thinking?

REPLACEMENT SITE for MY YAHOO
I've been playing around with Protopage.
It has been adding everything I wanted. I've completely recreated MY YAHOO page in this free dashboard. It looks almost exactly like my old Yahoo page after spending about 20 minutes in it. I'm just now adding all my content into it. Very easy and fast!
So far it's been pulling in every source I have on My Yahoo....and I've been able to pull in radar weather maps and other custom pages in portals. VERY COOL!!! Here is a weather map to try in Protopage.
You can caputure a part of a web page and show it through a portal and you have control over your colors!!! EXCELLENT.

I have had my page for 17 years and love it just the way it is. If they change it over I will not be staying with Yahoo. I also just found out through my work that the email accounts of Yahoo users has been hacked and information to include personal information was taken. I would like to know when they planed to tell us. They told us at work, because if we used the same password for our work account it had to be changed immediately. Would have been nice if Yahoo had told us when it happened.

I'm a happy user and stockholder. Please leave this home page alone. It's a serious mistake to force this on our customers. Please reconsider.

Try My MSN as an alternative to the new My Yahoo. It's the closest thing I've been able to find to the old Classic My Yahoo.

Again, just like the others, all the improvements are actually several steps backwards. Slower, confusing, all frustrating changes. Leave it alone. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. You've already messed up the email, leave the my home page alone.
