Disabling comments is the best thing Yahoo has ever changed. Good way to destroy some of the hate in America. And that goes for both sides - Dems and Repubs.

I can't comment anymore because every news article has a video attached and, when I scroll down, the video winds up on the right side, still going. If I try to pause the video, nothing happens. If I click on the large X on the video, I always end up at Yahoo's homepage again, like I clicked out of the article. I can hardly scroll, read, or comment on any articles because of the jerking movements from videos trying to play and preventing me from doing anything. Obviously if I wanted to watch the video, I wouldn't be scrolling down past it, but I apparently no longer have the bandwidth to support yahoo. I've seen plenty of feedback comments about videos, none of them asking for more, so why does every article have one? And why aren't we ever warned the article will have a video attached so we can avoid wasting our time?

What I find is that I cannot be the first to reply to comments. I can originate a string or reply to a comment after someone else has done so. I'm just not allowed to do the first reply.

I was attempting to comment on a golf article. I did not use any profanity. I did not insult anyone. My comment was appropriate to the story. Yet, repeated attempts to post it were deleted. The text of my comment was: "It was not a hole in one because it didn't go in the hole. I hit one that close once, and it also was not a hole in one, because it also did not go in the hole." I could say this to my mother, and she would not be angry. I do not understand why it was not allowed.
