I can not imagine what a Black person feels like when watching these things
every day. But, I am White, and I have been commenting almost daily to
the reporters and Media that emphasize every article with the worse side
of everything. I blame the media for so much of our ill rest because they
write a headline and it sounds like the world is coming to an end and you
read the article and it has no bearing on the article at all. I am not down playing what the Black people have faced because it wears me
out as well. Let's say that 10,000 Blacks are facing these horrors but
sometimes they are faced to the horrors because they are doing some
thing. Now DO NOT GET ME WRONG, PLEASE. The police are out of
control and they are acting under the influence of racism, no doubt. But broadcasting it every single day drags everybody down. But I also
have to say that the Black people will have to bear a lot of this on their
shoulders because it will be up to you to bring your light forward. The
media is the ones that are bringing the horrors forward because it sells
their copy, that is how they get in the newspaper and internet and get
paid. That is not right but ir also somes back to us-people will read the
horrors but it you present the picture of calm normalcy- no one will read the article. So it is important to bring the horrors forward because
that is what change will need to happen. Think about George Floyd and the changes that might have been brought forward. But it is important that the Black leaders are out here telling your story. Prove
to the world that you are mostly normal citizens but remember you also
want to bring around change and me as a White person wants change
to. Racism hurts the Whites too. As much as I love Pres. Obama, his
voice is very soft and that is good because he also shows how normal
a Black president can be and how normal his family can be. But you do need to bring some fire to the front-fire with no flames. We all have
to remember what Martin was about.
