The way I look at JUNETEENTH and the celebration, it needs to be celebrated on
more than one side. This should not be about sides or politics. The North
went to war to free the slaves but we should have been celebrating with
the Blacks and all the states that won the war. The lives that were lost in
that was were on the North who went to war with the South to make sure
that the slaves would be freed. But since this was ended with secrets and misinformation and the leaders wanting to pretend in some way it
didn't happen. I often wondered how the soldiers of the North felt about
the way it was handled. There was a tremendous loss of live and did
they just go back to work after the end of the Civil War. What we need
is for someone to take charge and examine this issue because until
these questions have answers we will never be celebrate in the open
are we? I would like to hear some thoughts on this since these things
were never addressed on the White side of this as well as the Black.
