After reading the blurb on Will Smith and the fact that his MOM was a punching bag
I wanted to say something about that. The villian in these stories is always the violent one doing the punching but it is important that we start
looking at this with a closer look. If the punching bag was not there - - -
We, as women, have to start learning the part we play the perpetuation
of this behavior. I do not want to make it sound that I think this is easy but it is true. It runs through families and women play a part in stopping
it. It shows your daughters the strength it takes to be a strong woman
who takes care of herself and her family. And hopefully it gives the abuser a chance to get help for his part in this. For so long Christianity
gave a pass for this kind of behavior by even mentioning that the stick
you would be beaten with could not be bigger than a certain size. It
shows us that religions have their own set of problems and it takes a
smart woman to weed out the good and the bad. No one deserves to be beaten ---PERIOD.
