This is directed at the White House and it's ammouncement that when the Justice
Breyer Retires you will nominate a Black woman to fill his slot. So it does
seem that it is a done deal. What I am hoping is that the winds of change
would start turning in the direction of throwing every one in the pot who
are superiorly fitting for that honor and than we would pick that name out
or that randomly. I have come to this suggestion with much aforethought
because minorities have not fared well in our society. But one way we
can start to even the game up will be look at everyone for everything.
Me, being a woman has spent a very long time being treated like a
minority even though I believe we have been more than half of the
population. Everyone might think that we have equal rights as women
but that is not the case. We would not be fighting the abortion laws
again if that were the case. That is only one example. I have read lately from different venues that women are now being blamed for the
amount of violence in this country. That is being pushed by the former
flock but unless we can see this being thrown aside by every one as
ridiculous, will be able to steer clear of that bullet. We all have a ways
to go before we even start to think that we are all on solid ground.
This is something that we could look at, maybe not today, but some
time in the near future before it gets away from us. But another avenue
we need to address is passing out positions that we are not qualified
to hold, let's not get into that mode. Because that will not be good for
any one.
