Listern to experts about real estate but I am a person who this business was our job.
We bought, sold, and built for 50 years. We have seen the house values
go up and down. We did not listen to many, we drove around and looked
at houses sitting and houses being sold. These enormous surges on
house values are tempting but they will not last. I'm not saying the experts are wrong, exactly, it is about timing. The first main advice--do not buy anything that you can not afford right then and there, that you
are willing to live in until the next surge, and do not be too greedy. We
made a decent leaving but if you have fall back income so when you
land up in a house that doesn't sell-- you can sit right until things are
at a better time.Don't listen to the hype on the street. Even among some of our friends that were contractors--they exagerated about how
much they made on houses.. Just remember to always have fun, if you
do make a good chuck, use it to reinvest but use it for fun too. But
remember the timing. It is a little like the stock market but it is not fluid
you can put it up for sale and it can sit for months. Use your head.
