Re: that piece of garbage new My Portfolio Page introduced in August 2024
It's Sept 2 2024 and after a massive number of very vocal negative complaints that are all suddenly deleted, I see that you finally rolled that POS back to Portfolio 2.0.
That was not far enough.
Roll it back to BEFORE Portfolio 2.0 ... that was the most useful, most functional, best version. Everything you did after that, starting with the horrible Portfolio 2.0 "improvement" has been pure garbage. -
Ability to rename the accounts.
I like the idea of a central location to view various Brokers and Accounts. Especially the Transactions is helpful. Being able to enter trades, through an online User Interface to various Brokers would be awesome addition in the future!
On the negative, I cannot easily identify the accounts. The, "Label," is populated with my Broker's name and takes up all the space. I'd rather just see the last four digits of the account.
I really like the idea though, of 2.0. One big blended Portal for Finances. Awesome idea!

On the Holdings summart graph, when adding comparisons the scale of the graph is incorrect and the selection is not persisted
For example when comparing my portfolio performance to the S&P 500 (^GSPC) and (Nasdaq (^IXIC) for the YTD, my portfolio grew 44% - on the graph both indexes appear to have grown close to 50% where the actually only grew 23.5% and 26.2% - I believe they are just scaled incorrectly.

what is going on with the financial site?
For the last week the financial site is virtually useless.
Taking forever and a day to load.
Always waiting on something. A few examples that it waits on are
- gum,criteo.com
- bats.video.yahoo.com
- a,a47b.com
What are you guys doing over there?

What happened to the ability to record sell transactions? Please bring it back. This is a MAJOR problem !
Been a while since I used the portfolio and surprised the new interface is dramatically slower, glitchy, prints only half pages, cannot record "sell"transactions, exports only summary but not holdings pages. It is almost useless now as a portfolio monitoring site. Either improve the site or bring back the old one which still had glitches but far better than the current one.

Menus missing from portfolio page - Again Today
The entire top 2 inches are missing from portfolio pages. This ithe area that includes the menus making it very difficult to change menus. I have some 20 portfolios and the one remaining drop down requires too much scrolling.
The problem came back today, September 7. It happens on all 4 browsers. I can provide screen shot but there is no way to attach it here. -
Portfolio updates do not work
When updating the portfolio portion of Yahoo Finance users of the platform could have less negative feedback if the updates actually worked. Surely, developer groups know to not release an update before functional testing. To do otherwise indicates some got bonuses by meeting a deadline. To **** with end users. I was logged in and now the feedback will not post because I was conviently not logged in. Wow

Investment allocation
Would be great to be able to give an allocation category for each transactions (RRSP CAD, RRSP USD, CELI, REEE, etc.) and then view portfolio either by stocks and holdings or by those categories. Also I have a RRSP in $CAD and one in $USD. Would be nice to be able to select in which currency each transaction is made and then be able to track them in the desired currency (USD or CAD converted).

portfolio and positions
on the old portfolio i was able to see how much % and $ amount buys and sells were up and down to current price. it allowed better information when buying and selling into and out of positions. please bring that function back. new 2.0 is going to make me look for other options.
also, 2.0 does not keep track of money made or lost after a position is closed. -
Portfolio Holding Value
It's showing as a percentage, not a dollar value. Should be a dollar value since you label it as Holding Value on the chart.

Linking to the Tastytrade brokerage doesn’t work. Any plans to fix it?
Sure would be nice to link my portfolio at Tastytrade to Yahoo finance. However the connection never succeeds and Yahoo Support told me that Tastytrade is not in the list of supported brokers. Any plans to fix it?

Bring back the old portfolio manager and take the 2.0 to the train station!
Shitcan 2.0 and bring something back that is accurate with valuable info. 2.0 is a total train wreck! Not useful whatsoever!! Wrong values for portfolio totals! I hate it!!! If looking for a "build back better" portfolio manager we just found it!!

Portfolio 2.0 cash tracking is inaccurate due to currency conversion
When handling a portfolio in GBP but logging a USD-based transaction, the "total cost" is shown at the current exchange rate, and that (variable) value is subtracted from the cash holdings.
But this means over time, the amount of cash in GBP can vary due to the fluctuating exchange rate, over-inflating the amount of cash in the portfolio.
Whilst displaying the current cost basis might be useful, for adjusting the cash holdings, I think it should be fixed in time at the point of purchase.
Example: create a GBP portfolio with £1000 and buy 1 AMD share at $182 on…

Show 0 value Change for prices that remain the same on mutual funds
When my mutual fund price per share stays the same from one day to the next the Yahoo Finance portfolio view still shows the change in total value for the fund from the previous as if it had repeated. It has not repeated as the price remained the same so the change for the second day should show a $0 change.

Eliminated Ability to Enter Holdings Directly in My Portfolios
I have used My Portfolios to track stocks and funds for many years. To do that, I want to edit the number of shares each month in each lot of the Holdings listing. This was always possible up until now. There are enough changes in the accounts that I do not want to waste time entering the transactions one at a time. All I really need to do is edit the number of shares each month for each lot of a given holding. I see from the comments trail that I am not alone in how I have been using…
