    When I login to Yahoo email, I am always prompted to provide a phone number so that I do not get locked out. I am never going to provide a phone number. Is there any way to stop having that prompt ask me to provide a phone number for recovery? I would rather not share my phone number.

    Hi there,

    This prompt will never stop as long as a mobile number is not listed on the account. We do required that an account have a valid mobile number listed in case the account does in fact need to be recovered. Currently when a new account is created a mobile number is require otherwise an account cannot be created.

    I used to be able to sort 'sent' emails by 'recipient' (used it many times). Then one day it was not there anymore. Please give it back.

    The option for sorting your inbox are:
    - Newest on top
    - Oldest on top
    - Unread
    - Starred
    - Sender

    These are the only options we currently have for sorting he inbox.

    Hi there,

    We see a few reason why emails may be deleted. One, the customer has deleted or whomever has access to the account has deleted those messages. Two, the account has not been accessed for 12 months or more and will be deactivated deleting all content. The third and most common, a 3rd party email client is being used such as Outlook or the stock iOS app on a mobile device.

    It is incredible there is no way to contact a human being anymore ! I am paying this yahoo pro and don’t even have access to anyone.
    Please, life isn’t only machines and robots.

  6. Do Not Delete ALL emails without warning user

    I hadn't logged into this account for a while as it was getting bogged down with junk mail. However, my grandfather just passed and I had a lot of photos here as well as years of emails. I logged on to find out Yahoo deleted all of this history and memories. I understand wanted to clear space but you have my phone number and other email. Why wouldn't you warn me? This is so disheartening.

    I do apologize for your loss. Unfortunately when an account has not been accessed for a period of time it will become inactive and the contents removed.

    By signing back in you did reactivate the account but those previous contests are gone and cannot be recovered.

  7. Allow MS Outlook to download email messages & leave them on the server.

    Just started receiving these messages when attempting to download my email messages using MS Outlook 365:

    Task 'Bill Tan Investments - Receiving' reported error (0x80042104) : 'Your email server does not have the features required to allow messages to be left on the server.'

    I have two accounts that won't work now. This is new; in the last week AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANY ANSWER FROM YAHOO UNLESS YOU PAY FOR IT! F that!

    I can read & send email via browsers or iOS however I cannot download messages from the server. I prefer to save my important messages…

  9. Missing email

    Just recently noticed I am missing ALL emails in my Inbox prior to 10/18. I still can view emails prior to 10/18 in my Sent and Unread filters. I have submitted an online request which has been completely useless. How is it that emails can be missing from my Inbox prior to a certain date but emails that I Sent or were Unread are still visible and available? This is very poor service.

    Please be advised that our restore process is completely automated, and we can only restore messages lost or deleted within the last 7 days. Any messages that can be restored will reappear in your mailbox or trash folder within 8 hours. If you’re not seeing all the messages you expect after 8 hours, it’s because they were no longer recoverable.

    If you are using a mail client such as Outlook or the Native mobile app, emails may be deleted by that third party client. We do recommend accessing your mail via http://yahoo.com or the Yahoo Mail app to avoid this issue.

    I cannot find a way to turn off news notifications. I know your email is free, so I guess I have to read your news (true or not). Although it is your company and you can chose to do and say what you want, you would please more people if your news was balanced rather than trying to sway our opinion.   14. Sliding delete

    Individual emails now slide to delete on mobile. I am trying to scroll up and down, it is trying to slide emails left & right and delete them. Its too easy to delete by accident. im not even in the body of the email, just in the general mailbox view where all i see is the titles. I need to scroll up & down to make the window toggle button appear on my browser.

    Hello there,

    By default, when you send someone an email and they click Reply, the email address you sent the message from will get their reply. You can change this behavior so that when they reply, a different address will get their message. You can change the reply-to address to another email address already attached to your Yahoo Mail or you can add a new one: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/reply-to-address-yahoo-mail-sln22036.html
