Yahoo Mail's contact list / Address book
Get rid of the new Yahoo address book. Put it back to the way it used to be with last names first. It's now impossible to quickly find a contact and make updates to their information. Make it optional if the user wants to get all the past e-mail topics & how many times they have e-mailed or received an e-mail from someone. Personally, I don't want this information - too much information - TMI

Could not agree more regarding the contact list problems! One cannot sort names in last name order, no flexibility in setting up new names, strange duplicates, and names I've never added. Although the new system looks better, and has several enhancements, the contact list is a complete disaster, have HAD to go back to the old system.

Contacts: Specific lists that I have used for years now do not contain all of the addresses they should contain. The email addresses are accessible if I type an individual email to them, but are not found when adding contacts to a list during the "edit" function, preventing me from adding them back to the list. As evidenced by the long list of complaints, this needs to be fixed. Productivity suffers and ensuring my emails reach all those who need them is being affected.

what happened to contacts and auto fill? Lately all your updates are not updates but rather hurdles we need to jump through just to check our mail. There are several other mail services out there. I am sure you would like to compete. Stop making stupid changes without thinking of your users.

What happened to the contact list? I have over 300 contacts with addresses I used to use for important event and now can't find them....WHY???
I want the old Email back or I'm going to gmail if I have to recreate it all over again...what a pain!!

I agree. I do not need to know when I emailed a contact, and why. I need to be able to edit contacts and add them to the appropriate groups easily. It was also nice to be able to add or update contacts from within an email, especially when the contact's information changes. Please fix this! Thank you

The older version I was able to add a contact and assign it to a group list. I can not do that currently. Very disappointed!!! Please fix it. I am not interested in knowing my email history with the contact.

Put the contact list back to sorting by last name. Why change that in the first place. We have sorted by last name forever. Or give an option to switch like the option to switch the date from new to old or old to new.

I agree wholeheartedly with one addition: this supposed improvement to contacts either destroyed my lists or hid them so thoroughly I can't find them. Extremely frustrating. It seems like every time Yahoo "improves" something it's three steps backwards.

Why why why why why why change things that are working just fine? if it Ain't Broke DON'T fix it! You only make a bigger problem and clearly you have. You have essentially rendered my contact list - gathered and painstakingly edited over many years and many meetings - USELESS! I agree with the other poster - DO SOME USER TESTING or focus groups FIRST before making major changes. Also, I do not care about my email history - so get rid of that useless feature to.

You've pretty much destroyed the Contacts list's functionality.
I hope someone is due for a major demotion for allowing this downgrade to happen.
And to make it even better, in order to make a comment here while I'm signed into my account I have to sign into my account. Do you guys ever do user testing before siccing downgrades on users? -

I can't get my contact list to come up. Since you've done so much fixing, Yahoo is worse than ever.

I prefer to have the last name first. Many of my business associates and I are not on first name basis. Also, it is not important to me to know the email history between me and my contacts. Maybe for legal purposes but I don't care to have that much details.
