The majority of your news and headlines on the Yahoo finance homepage tend to be slightly left woke leaning.
The majority of your news and headlines on the Yahoo finance homepage tend to be slightly left woke leaning. Yahoo finance definitely does not stay impartial, It always has a left-wing feel to it. Yahoo finance absolutely has no business trying to sway people's feelings one way or the other in the financial world because it Can have effects on the markets or at least contribute to the real time effects. Yahoo finance never has an upbeat pro-american feel to it, It is always quite the opposite.

Yahoo Finance Ticker Page no longer has holdings information
I have my broker a/c linked to my yahoo finance a/c. So when I opened the page for a ticker symbol, the older UI of yahoo finance showed my total holdings of that ticker, cost basis, profit etc.. It was very convenient. Now, with the newer UI released in Dec 2024, they yanked that completely. Can you bring this back? Even if it's underneath a tab, that's fine. I can click once to get it.

New Mobile APP not Good
The Mobile App view of your new site is bad. Before, you could shuttle left to right through 8 breaking, headlined stories by swiping. Return that feature. Now, you can only scroll down and the stories are low priority ones that stay constant most of the day.

This ad placement HAS to move
The “Trade [ticker symbol] on Coinbase” button that just recently appeared below each stock’s company name is in a terrible location. I share screenshots of Yahoo finance all the time because they’re clean and capture the stock name and chart perfectly but this makes me want to go elsewhere to find a better image capture without ads.

Fix CSV importing process for portfolios
When importing data as CSV format, the import process ignores the "Transaction Type" column for CASH_TX and classifies everything as a "Deposit", which skews the results.
To replicate, create a portfolio with cash transactions of multiple types, e.g., INCOME, WITHDRAWAL,FEE,etc. Then export portfolio to CSV. Open CSV file and verify the "Transaction Type" column corresponds with the original data. Then import the same CSV into a new Yahoo Finance portfolio and examine the cash transactions and all of them will be DEPOSIT.

Make the site work.
Nothing works. It's been this way for months. Comments, charts, everything. I have it on a 3 minute refresh. It rarely completes a refresh in that time. Maybe this is just a lame excuse to get us to subscribe to the premium service?

Let us respond to comments
Revolutionary idea. if we make a comment, enable a way for us to see who responds, and what they say. We had this, but now it's gone. Your comments are much the worse for it - just a bunch of one liners that are not conversations

The new comments format is bad.
I’ve noticed a significant decline in comments under the individual stock pages I follow. Examples are 1-2 per day changing to 1-2 per week. With some having no comments in weeks Universally people are saying the new format sucks. Has anyone in leadership chimed in on what a mistake moving to the new format was

Yahoo finance chat
This is so glitchy that you could not have tested it before deployment. This is worse than the old Yahoo chat rooms of 20 years ago.

Make it possible to elect the default name for the portfolio export
A while ago - before you introduced other changes to Portfolios (don't recall the specifics; it was a while ago) - the export file had a default name I could manually insert (just) a date into the fn (in File Explorer).
I export 1 of my 10 "active" portfolios every business day - the one where I track the status of all my DRP stocks. All my other portfolios mimic the approx contents of my brokerage accounts - which I check directly at brokerages each day.
My life would be a tad easier if I didn't have to manually replace…265th ranked -

'Feel Good' Story Suggestion:
Hi there!!
I'm a long time reader of the Yodel. First off, I want to say thanks for taking the time to write it up every day!I also wanted to bring a 'Feel Good' story to your attention: Albuquerque New Mexico has our own Superhero, Skyline! Skyline dresses up and hands care items (and narcan!) out to our homeless population. I would love nothing more than to share this gem of a human with the rest of the world!

Finance comments - hangs, spinning circle, missing text, broken features
Finance comments section just keeps getting worse. "No content found", even though there has been a user comment section for YEARS under a given stock. Click on "More comments"... whirring circle forever. Viewing a long comment, click link to see entire comment - jumps to a page that says "no longer available", even though I was just reading the first paragraph of it. That's all in addition to the oversize fonts you are using that take up way too much screen space, inability to mute or vote down. Man. You ruined it.
