New UI is too slow, frustrating
The "Theme" is the "idea" is that the new forced interface is terribly slow.
I click on something and maybe or maybe not something will change on my screen (besides more ads)
in about 30 seconds. I imagine AI is crunching in the background figuring out how to "improve" my user
experience. If so, FAIL.
I've used Yahoo Mail for about 25 years but looks like it may be time to move on. -
Classic vs Modern Web UI theme
Hi.
The new yahoo mail web theme ('modernized' UI layout) implemented about 2 days ago does not match the appeal of the previous UI. Kindly allow users to choose between the classical vs modern look.

Too bright
It's too bright...and too busy...the old mail was so much better. Stop trying so hard to create new things that don't need changed. Will likely close my email after many many years. Too ******* the eyes. But dark mode is too dark.

What's with that lightning bolt thing? it's like some sort of kids game awards thing. This is email not farmville.
Yes, we launched a fun way to reward our users for reading and organizing your emails, but you do not have to participate (not forced). Friendly reminder to always check your Settings. You can disable Streaks by going to the three dots "..." in the left hand navigation and then Your Streaks. Thanks.

Don't delete without warning
Deleted my mailbox without warning, I received no warning at all... pretty lame
If your account has had no activity for 365 days, then the account is deactivated. We communicate this a few times which includes sending you an email to your alternative email account, so make sure that is updated. If you need help reinstating, contact our CC team at help.yahoo.com. They have the tools to help with these issues.

Formatting rows in Inbox view (and folders)
Allow me to control the formatting of the sender, subject line, and date columns in the Inbox to either Bold or Roman (and possibly a color text and background).
Right now in the Inbox everything is bold, and on my MacOS laptop, that is EXTREMELY heavy, even intimidating. I would like to be able to lighten it up.
I use folders A LOT so I'm glad I can have them permanently expanded. The double arrow hover thing is really obscure. Why not just have a visible button?

We do give you an opt-out for AI Features. Please check your Settings. You will find it by going to "More" in the left hand navigation, Settings, and then AI features. Thanks.

stop blandly blandifying things and organizing desktop stuff as if it were mobile and give me my old theme back.
actually i liked the bit of Legacy mode i still had with the dark blue watery looking background from like 10 years ago and more, when you still let us customize bot the look and organization of our mail and home pages properly. and did not appreciate checking my email today and getting blasted by Light Mode and ****** roundness.

New Email inbox
I absolutely hate the new email inbox you dumped on me, is there a way to switch it back?? Almost 30 years on the old one, switch it back, the new one is garbage.

I am extremely disappointed with the new Yahoo Mail design. The Classic version was much more user-friendly, easier to navigate, and easier on the eyes.
One of the biggest disappointments is the removal of themes. Having basically a black or white background is not enough customization, and both options can be uncomfortable to look at for long periods of time. The old themes made Yahoo Mail more visually appealing and allowed users to choose a background that worked better for them.
The Classic version also made everything much easier to find. The layout was straightforward, familiar, and functional. With the…

Why did Yahoo mail go to either an all-white or all-black (dark) background? Please allow users to choose backgrounds that are much easier on the eyes.

mail view change when you dont use full screen mode.
when you have the screen smaller the reading area with the message layout right side get cut off because you enforce the right bar where you can see calendar and stared mails. should be a option to hide this bar, and or have it so it can get poped out over the message if needed.

We encourage you to read at the top of the Uservoice header (forum). There we provide What’s New, Coming Soon and some Tips. There we mention how to disable Inbox Categories: All, Priority, etc. Definitely read those as we update them with useful information. Thanks.

Get rid of the message summaries
They are redundant and messy. If you don't want to get rid of them, at least let people opt in or out depending on their preferences.
