    Just to clarify for the comments below - I'm not proposing to delete the IR position - just create a position for "Out". For the second comment, yes, if you have 5 deep on your bench missing a week is no big deal. But, if you're running a league with only 1 or 2 total bench spots, you end up cutting players just to deal with bye weeks or other issues.

    Create a roster spot for "Out", which covers suspension, injury, bye weeks, or any circumstance where a player will not play. Having the IR slot is almost useless, as most IR players are usually out for extended periods. If trying to run a league with minimal bench positions, this would allow more flexibility during bye weeks, yet keep FA full of viable options vs having teams be 5+ deep in bench positions to deal with such issues. I believe you could run a great league with only 1-2 bench slots if you have the "Out" slots as well.
