    THANK YOU!!! THE MISERY IS OVER!!! These instructions work (almost) for Firefox, too, but this helped me figure it out:
    1. Click the 3 lines.
    2. Go to Add-ons.
    3. Go to extensions.
    4. Click "disable" on "Search and New Tab by Yahoo".
    5. All is right with the world again.
