An error occurred while saving the comment SavvyCat commentedThere is also the issue of trying to promote stories with automatic videos in the upper right corner. The sound is off, but the video runs, dragging down my whole system. And of course any story that has a video plays automatically when we should be able to start it once we are prepared. There is a preference to turn off autoplay, but it's clearly just a feel good measure. once you leave the page and end up on another with a video, it autoplays. With all of these issues, my employer is considering adding the whole of Yahoo to their blocked sites that kill bandwidth and are disruptive.

The autoplay is the worst aspect of this. There used to be a preference to turn off autoplay, but only worked on the current video. It did stick on ANYTHING. New page with a video? New autoplay. Now most don't even have preferences. At least their honest about their plan to ram it down your throat. My company is currently reviewing access bans on the company, and Yahoo was added to the list.
