I want to READ articles, NOT WATCH videos
I click on articles to READ them NOT WATCH them. I am sick of clicking on a text headline online to be taken to a video. If you offer it in video, offer it in text too!! If I click on a headline and it takes me to a video I immediately close it.

This practice is inconvenient and annoying. Almost always, there is also an accompanying AP written story, but you don't provide it in an obvious attempt to force us to watch the video ad. If this continues, I will probably leave the platform and change my email. It's that annoying.

You have ruined Yahoo. First, ever since you changed the format of the home page with those news videos that I can't delete I have had nothing but problems. The page is extremely slow to load and it's not my computer because I don't have problems with any other website. I click on one news item (not video) and a different one comes up. I am reading one item and it suddenly goes to Yahoo login. Why mess up a good thing?

I don't need to use my data up for the news. There are too many sites for that now.

The autoplay is the worst aspect of this. There used to be a preference to turn off autoplay, but only worked on the current video. It did stick on ANYTHING. New page with a video? New autoplay. Now most don't even have preferences. At least their honest about their plan to ram it down your throat. My company is currently reviewing access bans on the company, and Yahoo was added to the list.

I am in total agreement here. I read the news while my family watches tv. They get annoyed when a video pops up and starts playing automatically while they are watching tv.

I HATE that the little videos keep running and take so long to load! They also interfere when trying to click on an article. Also the ever running ads mess up the page response.

I think we have discovered a secret: TV reporters can't write. They know only how to blab.

videos are the worst.

Let's get back to the basics of reading rather than simple viewing somebodies boring video.

Myself included. I close it immediately if it forcibly starts playing a video. Also as someone mentioned it automatically moves on to the next video even if you are in the middle of trying to type a comment!

Would much rather read articles!

I do the same thing. If I wanted to watch a video, I would go elsewhere. I want to read an article. If it's going straight to a video feed, warn me first so I can save my time.

I do the same, I will not read an article if I am forced to look at any kind of video.
