Yes, yes, yes! Plus, being able to turn a message from read to unread with a single click of the dot was so practical and efficient. Please bring it back!

The right-side panel makes the page too cluttered. Please allow an option to hid this panel.
The former Classic Email is intuitive, clean and easy to use. Emails can be marked unread with a single click of the mouse and starred/marked priority directly to the left of the subject. All folders are visible on the left side. It’s easy to distinguish current day emails from the previous day/week/month. Functions listed across the top use words, not icons so it’s easy to find the needed function and the functions are always in the same order. It’s visually pleasing without clutter. It is so efficient it’s hard to understand why it has changed in such a drastic way.
The new email is cumbersome and cluttered. The right-side pane is useless and takes up space that could be used to see longer previews. Functions (like marking an email unread) require two clicks of the mouse instead of one, using the upper bar instead of a dot next to the email. The functions above emails (move, delete, spam, etc.) are arranged in one order when emails are closed, but the order changes when viewing an email, which is confusing. Functions are icons instead of words (move, delete, spam) so with every move the user must stop to process what each icon means. Folders on the left aren’t displayed and require multiple clicks to access. It’s not as visually clean and there is no separation of current emails from previous emails. It requires so much thinking to do what needs to be done, it quite inefficient compared to Classic Email.
