    There are a number of players who are designated C,W who either rarely play Center, or rarely play Winger, while there are other players designated just Center who often play the Wing, and other players who are only designated Winger that often play Center or at least take faceoffs. This should be cleaned up a bit.

    Reviewing the faceoffs taken by team, and comparing that to current player designations, the following changes should be made. Players who are top 2 on team in faceoffs taken should be considered C only. Players outside the top 3 in faceoffs taken should have Winger designation added if they are listed only C, and players listed as Winger only who take faceoffs consistently should have C designation added. These recommendations are outlined by team below:

    Anaheim – Derek Grant – should be Center only (2nd on team in Faceoffs Taken)
    Arizona – Travis Boyd and Nick Bjugstad – should be Center only (1st and 2nd on team in Faceoffs Taken)
    Buffalo – Jeff Skinner – should have Center designation added (takes 4.45 faceoffs/game average)
    Carolina – Martin Necas should have Center designation added (averaging 6.72 faceoffs/game)
    Chicago – Max Domi – should be Center only (2nd on team in faceoffs)
    Colorado – JT Compher should be C only (2nd on team in faceoffs)
    Dallas – Tyler Seguin should be C only (1st on team in faceoffs). Radek Faksa and Roope Hintz should both have Winger designation added (4th and 6th in faceoffs respectively)
    Detroit – Andrew Copp should be C only (2nd on team in faceoffs). Pius Suter should have Winger designation added (5th on team in faceoffs)
    Edmonton – Leon Draisaitl and Ryan McLeod should be C only (1st and 2nd on team in faceoffs)
    Minnesota – Ryan Hartman should have Winger designation added (4th on team in faceoffs)
    Nashville – Michael McCarron should have Winger designation added (5th on team in faceoffs)
    New Jersey – Erik Haula should be C only (2nd on team in faceoffs). Jack Hughes should have Winger designation added (4th on team in faceoffs)
    New York I – Matthew Barzal should have Winger designation added (4th on team in Faceoffs)
    Ottawa – Claude Giroux should be C only (1st on team in faceoffs). Brady Tkachuk should have Center designation added (averaging 7.9 faceoffs per game)
    Philadelphia – Scott Laughton should be C only (2nd on team in faceoffs). Noah Cates should have C designation added (averaging 11.9 faceoffs per game)
    Tampa Bay – Steven Stamkos should be C only (1st on team in faceoffs). Pierre Edouard Bellemare should have Winger designation added (4th on team in faceoffs)
    Toronto – Pontus Holmberg should have C designation added (took 11 faceoffs in his only game)
    Vancouver – Elias Pettersson should be C only (2nd on team in faceoffs)
    Vegas – Chandler Stephenson and William Karlsson should both be C only (1st and 2nd on team in faceoffs)
    Washington – Dylan Strome should be C only (1st on team in faceoffs)
    Winnipeg – David Gustafsson should have Winger designation added (4th on team in faceoffs)
