I was hoping that all of the negative feedback for this in the fantasy baseball thread would get to someone at Yahoo and they'd change the decision for football. I've lost hope now. I encourage all commissioners to find other sites for their leagues if they used the message board at all. The "fantasy chat" isn't going to work as a comparison. None of my six baseball leagues use the chat even though almost all used message boards heavily in the past. As a Yahoo fantasy sports supporter and manager of over 20 years, it's a really sad day knowing that it's best to move on to another site to protect the quality of our leagues.

I commented on here once, but I will again. I've had two Yahoo fantasy baseball leagues fall apart already due to this. Not enough managers check their e-mail or the chat (because it isn't as user friendly) and commissioners had to kick out people that weren't communicating. I am guessing that the people that were kicked were blaming the commissioner since they didn't know a message board wasn't an option. Regardless, we couldn't fill the open spots and the leagues have just ended. Many of my leagues are with people that don't know each other, so we're not going to form a FB group. Yahoo needs to realize that the chat isn't the solution here. So now I'm looking for new leagues instead of the established ones that I was involved with. If it's not reinstated for fantasy football season, I'll be looking for a new site altogether.

I have multiple fantasy leagues across three sports that will likely fall apart without the message boards. Not everybody uses the chat feature and many seem reluctant to do so. The commissioners of these leagues are likely just going to go to another platform instead of force their league members to use a product that they don't want to use.
