I strongly prefer the old desktop-style Yahoo Mail on Chrome (or any Chromium browser).

The former layout was vastly superior: intuitive, powerful, and built for real desktop use.

    - Clean list layout
    - Proper tabs for multitasking
    - Dynamic message preview that actually works

The left sidebar was logical and rock-solid:
    Inbox • Unread • Starred • Drafts • Sent • Archive • Spam • Trash
    Views • Photos • Documents • Subscriptions • Travel
    Folders

Everything exactly where it belonged — instantly findable, no hunting required.

The new Yahoo Mail is a blatant mobile phone interface shoehorned onto desktop.

It makes zero sense for large screens.
Desktop and mobile deserve separate, platform‑optimized designs
and not this one-size-fits-all mobile clone forced on everyone.

This reeks of internal laziness or cost-cutting, not user-focused improvement.

    On browser specifically Chrome/Chromium specifically:

    - Unread messages in categorized folders no longer appear in the main Unread view.
Only inbox unreads show up now.
    → Completely broken behavior.
→ Important emails vanish into obscurity.

    - Sort preference (Newest first / Unread first) is never remembered.
    Browser refresh?
Gone. Every single time I have to re-click it.
    Maddening.

The new version is objectively clunkier, and far less efficient
for anyone doing serious email work on desktop.

Yahoo claims it helps you “see priority emails faster.”

That's marketing nonsense the layout is clearly copied
from smartphones, not designed for computers.

They rolled this out without real user testing or consent,
then bombarded everyone with aggressive pop-ups and nudges to switch.

The old/former desktop version was better in every practical way.
Bring it back permanently or at least
    make the switch OPTIONAL.
    NO constant harassment, please!

Many longtime users feel the same: this change is driving people away.
    Fix it.
