    Over the past couple of seasons, our league has become frustrated with the QS stat as the game of baseball has evolved. We are hoping for the inclusion of a stat we like to call Quality Outing, or QO. A QO is simply any appearance consisting of 4+ IP 0 ER, 5+IP 0-2 ER, or 6+ IP 0-3 ER. Quality Outing takes the QS statistic and expands on it by including the ever increasing number of 4 and 5 innings starts across the league, as well as accounting for long relievers and bulk pitchers that follow openers. We think this stat is a better measuring stick for performance in today's game than QS as the game has shifted towards generally shorter outings for pitchers. We think many other leagues would love this option if given the opportunity to select it. That way for QS fans, it is still an option, but for those wanting to evolve with the game QO is available.
