You have to move spam mail to inbox then unsubscribe/block will work. However, here is where the problem lies because as soon as you unsubscribe/block from sender they simply change their address. For example, you get mail from John Smith@whatever.com and you block it they will send the same spam under John Smith#1@whatever.com or John Smith#2@whatever.com so it's endless BS. I'm having all my important mail sent to newly created Gmail acct. and I'm a lot happier with results. I haven't had 1 spam or any unwanted mail and I'm about to throw a ticker-tape parade for this.
