Have had a lot of success with Spamcop.net since realising that Yahoo have no adequate mechanism for dealing with spam, or even enough scope for blocking addresses or domains. Was getting over 30 a day from a particular spambot operation, but over the past 28 days I've had none from them and just 5 emails from regular spammers. It took a LOT of reporting though, ugh.

With spambots switching servers on the fly, this needs to be expanded to a minimum of 10,000.

Shocked that yahoo does not allow granular blocks.

    Definitely.

Also, whilst we're awaiting a sensible fix from Yahoo, reporting the spams you get to Spamcop.com would be a good idea.

And I'd like the ability to block everything from addresses using the following formats:

    no-reply@<letter><letter><letter><threeEnglishwords>(dot)<digit><digit>.space

    no-reply@<letter><letter><letter><threeEnglishwords>(dot)<digit><digit>.site

    no-reply@<letter><letter><letter><threeEnglishwords>(dot)<digit><digit>.top

And really I'd also block no-reply@*.space and .site and .top - nothing I want to hear from uses those Top Level Domains, so I don't care if some other things get caught up in the block.

Reporting everything to Spamcop.com, but no idea if it is helping or not. Editing to add that the levels finally seem to be dropping in the past few days - hopefully the admins that Spamcop reports go to are imposing restrictions of their own, but it took a LOT of reporting and often to the same admins each day to get to this point. Editing further to add that as of the time of this edit, I haven't had any from this particular spambot operation in the past 28 days and just 5 from regular spammers.

    Yep.

I've been getting around ten spams a day recently, from barely any in over a decade, mostly from the .space domain, but some from .site and a few from .top. All use the format of no-reply@ followed by three random letters, then a dot followed by three words in English or common acronyms used in English, followed by two digits, then the .space or .site or .top domain.

Have been reporting all of the senders to spamcop.com and blocking them on Yahoo, but it is fairly clear that these spammers are using bots to generate new accounts. I'll very soon max out the ability to block up to 1000 addresses, having had under 90 from over a decade of having the account with yahoo.

The odd time I'm away from wifi, I can get as many as 30 of these in a day, as I won't be around to block the initial addresses in a given chunk of time.
