Remove offputting pictures from front page
Every so often I open the yahoo main page (I start there before clicking on my email) and I see a horrible picture of some poor person or animal with a weird skin parasite infestation, rotten limb or other disgusting problem featured prominently on the news feed. I simply cannot believe that the majority of yahoo users appreciate or enjoy this. I have a physical negative reaction to the pictures (skin crawling, nausea) and it makes me significantly less likely to want to engage with yahoo pages or even check email.
This is the lowest form of clickbait and I'd like to ask yahoo to remove such pictures as unnecessary - or put them much much further down in my feed. What is doubly irritating is that it takes a few days before the story is replaced, so one has to experience the same horrible picture and have the same reaction day after day, especially if you (as I do) forget about the issue between visits to the yahoo page.
Another alternative is to give users the option to 'hide' stories.
