Comment Section Thumbs Up/Down vs Heart
It appears that you replaced the thumbs up/down with a heart in the comments section. The up vs down feature was a great differentiator that brings people to Yahoo over other news sites because it shows a greater spectrum of user feedback.
I recommend bringing back the thumbs up/down options.

The comments that pop up over the text when I read the article are not welcome. I don't press the heart they just appear. If I want to read the comments I am perfectly capable of scrolling down to the end of the article.

Agreed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! remove or at least bring back the DISLIKE button. I rarely "heart" any of the articles but there's plenty of junk out there I would "HEART" to BLOCK from my page.

Does yahoo actually read any of these comments and feedback. I very much doubt it.

I hate not being able to dislike what Yahoo provides when I click the Home link unless it is sponsered.

The comments sections have become absolutely disgusting since the 'heart' feature replaced thumbs up and thumbs down. All of the most toxic comments now make it to the top.
This is the first time I've ever had to send feedback to Yahoo.

Yahoo has LIKE by most articles... but needs a DISLIKE by all articles as well!! It stinks that you can like something but not that you can dislike the junk. That would be one way to get rid of the Kardashian, Jenner, "jaw dropping", travel, junk articles!!!! NEED A DISLIKE ON EVERY POSTING!!!

Yahoo is now run by insipid right wing neo-cons who suppress free speech and allow crooked advertisers to litter their pages with virus infested ads and intrusive, unwanted videos. What garbage. It has become no better than a scandal sheet on the level of the National Inquirer or worse. Verizon needs to fire the entire executive team totally re-haul it and return it to its roots or else just shutter it completely.

So, the thumbs down was a way to balance out, and get rid of some very hateful, idiotic, racist, and inflammatory postings. When more people "thumb downed" a comment that was nasty, or just downright stupid, it would be hidden, and not viewed if not desired. Now, we have a "heart". This allows fake accounts, Russian trolls, and political hacks to "heart" a nasty comment, and have it at the top of the comments. The recent story of the bus crash in Tenn. that killed children is really not a place for "hearts" on some horribly racist comments. Such sad and gruesome stories really are not the place for "happy hearts". Yes, I know that inappropriate comments can be flagged, but to be honest, most people won't, leaving the sometimes nasty comments to fester more hate. We can no longer see replies to our comments, allowing retort on differing views, or support on good ideas.I have been using Yahoo for quite some time, with the same email for just as long. I now have to click two to three times to see a story, and the comments that I used to often read, are no longer an item that draws me to any Yahoo news item. Honestly, I tried to use this current system, not enjoyable, at all. So, after 15+ years of Yahoo usage, it may be time to find a different homepage, some of us do not want, or wish to use Facebook, so that is also not an option. Maybe someone will make a new page, similar to the old Yahoo format, can't be that hard. It would likely siphon off some of those that enjoyed that format. Anybody can provide links to a story. Here's to hoping the folks in the cubicles at Yahoo see it fit to bring back something many of us want.

Yahoo news has lost all creditability since their liberal leanings have taken over. The lack of thumbs down makes judging comments meaningless.

Why can't I at least 'love" this idea (since I can't "thumb up" here)? Instead, I have to go to Facebook to give my approval. I will not go to Facebook in order to reply to a comment on Yahoo. How ridiculous!
