Comment Section Thumbs Up/Down vs Heart
It appears that you replaced the thumbs up/down with a heart in the comments section. The up vs down feature was a great differentiator that brings people to Yahoo over other news sites because it shows a greater spectrum of user feedback.
I recommend bringing back the thumbs up/down options.

Bring back the thumbs up/down and the ability to bring up my prior comments

Please bring back the thumbs system immediately!!! It's ridiculous that you can only "love" a comment and not disagree or hate a comment. It appears that no one is buying into this heart system. Kind of a form of censorship for those reading the comments being unable to express their opinions.

Yahoo continues to remove the features that made it popular in the first place (thumbs up and down, the ability to view past comments, and past comments of other posters). It's as if you're TRYING to drive your loyal users away. Well, judging from what I read in the business news, it's working.

Agreed, this is horrible. Why even have a comments section at all. Just kill it or bring back the previous version.

Give us back our thumbs-up AND thumbs-down, Yahoo, or else a lot more people are going to leave Yahoo. We like being able to see what others think of what we said, and the ability to go back and see how many people agreed or disagreed with our comments. That stupid little heart is ridiculous. Fix this NOW, Yahoo.

Wow...Didn't even let me post my comment about the NUMBN%T idea of "heart (love) only" instead of thumb up/down. NO foul language - Just criticism you Yahoos didn't like. BU BYE YAHOOS AFTER 20 YEARS!!!!

I came here for the comments- apparently that's over. Hopefully Verizon improves Yahoo and once again returns it to an easy-to-use interactive forum to discuss their news content. As it is, it's useless.

Yahoo is going to lose more users if they keep the current format.

The heart thing vs thumbs up or down, bring back the thumbs up or down. The hearth thing sucks. Yahoo is really turning out to be a problem. Quit changing formats without feed back from your users.

I'm gonna abandon Yahoo as well unless the old thumb up/down feature comes back.
Likewise the removal of clicking on previous comments.
I don't always agree with everyone's comments but I sure like to see other's viewpoints.Thumb down, Yahoo.

Bring back the thumbs up/down. Whoever decide to get rid of that feature shows really, really bad judgement. I am not reading yahoo news again until the thumbs up/down is returned.

The main reason I use yahoo is for the comments. When I post I like to see how many people agree or disagree with me. I also like to show my support/non-support of other comments. Now you have that idiotic heart. Way to take the fun out of the comments yahoo, guess I'll need to find a different home page.

I absolutely hate this new format! Not only is the new "heart" thing childish, but it gives no opportunity to express DISAPPROVAL of a particular comment.
But most important of all, this new format does NOT allow me to click on previous comment threads of my own and my friends! Sure, I can see my OWN comment(s) on a particular thread, but I cannot see the entire thread with OTHERS' comments, including any new comments/replies on that thread.
This new format renders the entire concept and usefulness of the Yahoo news comments feature absolutely USELESS. I habitually check out Yahoo every day, and typically spend a lot of time readin Yahoo articles and commenting. There is absolutely NO reason to do so anymore, and you will certainly lose MANY regular visitors unless you can return the format to its previous, VERY USEFUL incarnation. Thank you.

Thumbs up/down is one of the main reasons I continued to use Yahoo as my home page. google news is now my new home page. It is a combined news source (without ads presented to appear as news) and a search engine.

They want you to use Twitter and FB. They have all kinds of BS reasons for it.Real reason is money. Problem is, their old format is what attracts people to their news. It certainly isn't Katie couric. Wasting money there. Without the old format, they have nothing to offer that is better than the competitors. If you take away the features that keep people here, they will leave.....again. Even if you attract new users, you still won't have growth because of the many more you will most likley lose. Since there is no interactive feature without jumping on social media, I'll get my news elsewhere. At least I'll be free of the auto playing videos when I'm looking to READ the news.
