Allow users to select news content.
Your biggest competitor and threat is Google News. They allow users to filter out sources and stories that are unimportant to them. For instance, I don't want entertainment 'news' or a gossip 'news' (why is that story about the hairy cat under a bed news?). Additionally, 'clickbait' is horrible.
Think back to Columbo, and just give me the facts.
