I understand Yahoo mail is free. I would love to have the color/themes back. I had it set up that it was much easier on my older eyes. May consider leaving. I agree way too many ads everywhere. But you get what you pay for :)

POSSIBLE WAY TO GET BACK CLASSIC try this, it DOES work for me
PLEASE HELP ME AND KEEP COPYING AND PASTING MY INSTRUCTIONS HERE1) Open and log into sh*tty new Yahoo email if you aren't already
2) Copy this text: https://mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch?action=mails
3) Open a new Chrome browser window while keeping sh*tty one open
4) Paste the text into new brower window
5) Close sh*tty new yahoo browser window
6) if it worked, BOOKMARK copied link in new window (this is important as it will become your goto-button everytime you log in to get back to Classic)
7) Raise middle finger of victory and KEEP SENDING YAHOO YOUR SENTIMENTSome here know that i've been posting these instructions for some time now. Recently i had to take an unexpected break. But i'm back again now. To post on these message boards requires a minimum age of 13 years old. Apparently Yahoo got sick of me posting this hack around their awful new system and actually went into my account and reduced my age to below 13 (!) Tuff gig to justify given i've had my yahoo acct more than 20 years. Perhaps they're trying to tell me that i'm being, uh, childish about continually helping people get back to Classic mail? Whatever. Interestingly however, this is NOT the first time that Yahoo staff has directly gone into my personal account and made changes due to my continually expressing outrage at their absolute blatant disregard for customer requests. They know that nobody wants these changes. They know good and well. "Gathering Feedback"..ha, ya right. But the fact is, they simply do not give a rats fat one.
Why? Well there are a few reasons. One is that Yahoo has become an overly corporate controlled mess full of so called leaders who really don't know much what they're doing and have to justify their over-compensated pay rates somehow; hence "improvements" by said "experts" MUST be made. Another is that if they push the garbage new system for free they can then offer to do you the "favor" of changing it back if you pay for their service now. Heck you've registered your email and domain names with them so all your social and business contacts are used to reaching you in a certain way, so they figure why not use that control they have over the contacts YOU'VE built up over decades to force new changes on you, right? I mean after all, if you don't like it they can sit back smugly and say that you have options: to move to a new "provider". At your own time and expense. At your own efforts to inform all the contacts you've built up over years to adjust to your new info. No problem.
But that's not the ultimate reason. The most fundamental ultimate underlying reason for all these garbage changes is something they really really don't want you or anyone to know about. If they did, they would simply state why it is they are forcing everyone to endure these changes without explanation. The real reason has to do with a new system that is monumentally easier for everything in it, (and i do mean EVERYTHING...everything typed, clicked, and sent) to be MONITORED. The new system includes extreme monitoring capabilities; everything you write in an email or message, or even write then edit and finally send, can be tracked and searched for patterns. Coupled with advanced computing capabilities, such patterns can be used to deduce nearly every detail about an individual. Routines, interests, contacts, just about everything really. This can be used in a variety of ways: advertisements tapered specifically to you, knowledge of your daily routines for tracking purposes, terrorism and natl security threat detection, U-name it. And while a ton of excuses can be used to justify all of this snooping, what it really boils down to is just flat out CONTROL. Try having a deep conversation with a typical CEO and you'll get an idea just how much control-freak paranoia characterizes those running anything at the top level.
So i think people can protest here until they're blue in the fingertips about how much they dont want yahoo measuring thru every inch of **** that comes out our butts. Ultimately yahoo cares not all what we want. But again, since i obviously in Yahoo's eyes have the mental level of a sub-13 year old, perhaps i'm just a whiny child with nothing really worthy to say. Right yahoo? Guess they'll just keep on trying to figure out ways to censor me. Whatever. If thats how i'm viewed, i might as well keep writing like a child. Yahoo: suck mine and swallow all nine. Try not to choke on the bone, yo Have a nice day.

The "enhanced" email is HORRIBLE. I second everything that Debrah *******. Jenkins stated. In addition, it's also MUCH SLOWER!!! I also noticed that the ad space to the right is larger, so it seems like Yahoo is trying to use that nuisance to urge users to pay the fee for the "Pro Service". This email SUCKS!!!
Or, perhaps Yahoo wants to lose users to Google mail (and in turn lose advertising revenue from the ads!!!)... I used to use Yahoo mail because I liked the classic Yahoo email interface more than Google. However, this new format is SO BAD that I think I'll be switching to Gmail...

I like my old email format. I didn't ask for the new one. I am a senior & uncomfortable with changes. Could you please give me my old email format back. If you can't, I will start using my gmail in place of yahoo email. We should have a choice!
Thank You -

I much prefer the old Classic format, this new format is full of bugs and not very well thought through.
1. Messages are showing the attachment icon (paperclip) when there is not an attachment.
2. Every picture that is contained in the body of an email is being treated as an attachment. If I have an email that contains five pictures Yahoo Mail thinks I have five attachments. Very confusing and incorrect, a picture contained in the body of an email IS NOT an attachment.3. When I actually do have an attached document I am shown what I suppose is a piece of paper. This would be a good time to use the paperclip...
4. The attachment preview area is now tiny, there is no way anybody can read print that small. Opening the preview in a new window where what is written can actually be read worked much better.
5. The whole interface is quite cluttered. There are useless distracting icons everywhere. For example, I do not need or want the initial icon next to my contact's names. I know that Mary begins with "M". This is totally unnecessary and takes up space.
6. The subject line preview in the Inbox contains significantly less information, please see above about useless icons taking up space.
7. My name is not "me", we have gone through this before, when I send an email I want to see my NAME listed as the sender.
That's what I saw after using this new mail for five minutes, I'm sure as time goes on there will be many more issues. Bottom line, if it's not ready for prime time don't release it. Please bring back Classic Mail. Thank you.

Son of a B&*(%S. Quit "fixing" what isn't broke. I can't get new people added once I'm past the initial set up of an email. The calendar takes FOREVER to load. Bring back the old Yahoo or I'm going to be forced to switch to Gmail. Colors stink. Format stinks
Bottom line, I want the old format back. .
