VA Compensation and the Stimulus
NO one has an answer for those receiving VA compensation as their only source of income and using the Department of the Treasury's DIRECT EXPRESS Card for direct deposit. We do not file tax returns and using the IRS "Non-Filers" form for stimulus payment we cannot enter our banking info because Direct Express does not use routing numbers. Therefore we cannot receive our refund because the VA does not share info with either Social Security or the IRS. If we had a traditional Bank Checking Account instead of the DEPARTMENT of TREASURY'S DIRECT EXPRESS we could get a refund. THIS MAKES ZERO SENSE!!! WE ARE ALREADY IN THE FEDERAL SYSTEM WITH DIRECT EXPRESS. YAHOO...please surprise me and do some investigation on this subject for the Disabled Veterans that are affected. USA today-NO ANSWER, DEPT. of TREASURY-NO ANSWER, DVA-NO ANSWER. I don't mean I cannot get thru, I mean they do not have an answer and everyone passes me on to the IRS where I literally get no answer and cannot even get thru to them...
