Fox, NYPost aren’t reputable news sites
I’m a professional journalist and I want you to know that Fox and the New York Post aren’t reputable news sites, and Yahoo is damaging its reputation among journalists by including non-news sites in the algorithm.
Those sites are opinion sites.
Yahoo News should not include opinion sites in the algorithm — or you should change this to Yahoo News + Views.
Yes I can personalize my feed.
However, I’ve slid the sliders three different days to get rid of Fox from my Yahoo News feed, and Yahoo News continues to serve Fox stories in my feed.
This means you either have a bad algorithm, or you have dumb anti-journalists running Yahoo News, is my running theory.
Every time I see Fox or the New York Post or any other opinion site in the feed, I switch back to my other news aggregators for news and to buy products from their advertisers and not from Yahoo advertising.
So it would serve Yahoo News to do a better job of hewing to real news sites and to stop catering to Trumpers who are limiting Yahoo’s reach and influence and monetization.
