Russia's bioweapon conspiracy theory finds support in US

Russia's baseless claims about secret American biological warfare labs in Ukraine are taking root in the U.S. too, uniting COVID-19 conspiracy theorists, QAnon adherents and some supporters of ex-President Donald Trump.

Despite rebuttals from independent scientists, Ukrainian leaders and officials at the White House and Pentagon, the online popularity of the claims suggests some Americans are willing to trust Kremlin propaganda over the U.S. media and government.

Like any effective conspiracy theory, the Russian claim relies on some truths: Ukraine does maintain a network of biological labs dedicated to research into pathogens, and those labs have received funding and research support from the U.S.

But the labs are owned and operated by Ukraine, and the work is not secret. It's part of an initiative called the Biological Threat Reduction Program that aims to reduce the likelihood of deadly outbreaks, whether natural or manmade. The U.S. efforts date back to work in the 1990s to dismantle the former Soviet Union’s program for weapons of mass destruction.

Start by at least trying to give BALANCED news stories! IF Trump were in office it would be none stop Criticism but since it is a Democrat we see very little, yet this dummy in the White House is heading us into either a RECESSION or another Great Depression - either way it is not good! Stop making the GOP out to be bad and Biden can do no wrong! We don't need more propaganda news; we have CNN , MSNBC, etc. for that!

The biggest improvement would be to put truthful news out there and not opinions by your journalists. A real journalist writes truth not opinion. Everyone should be able to voice their opinion, but you have stopped that so no one can comment that has differing views. Disgraceful!

Quit trying to sway the public with your left wing news articles. Give equal news to both parties.

Report the news fairly instead of trying to promote yahoo's left wing news articles. Restore the comments section. Fact check your news.

I would like to see more reports on financial violation by the brokerage firms.
A prime example: A put option "sold to open" on Jan 10,2033 to Jan 2, 2022 4:00 pm.
Where the broker frost the cash acct. than use the acct for personal or firm profit and then sells the security that they bought to the seller after the market close claiming there was no buyer, was a margin acct. etc.This was a rampaged corruption and god knows how long it has been going on! I did send a letter to SEC, FINRA etc. May be yahoo would like to look into it!
