Comment removal
I really don't understand the criteria that your people use to remove comments. I have had a number of COMPLETELY benign comments removed. In fact, just yesterday, I replied to a person's comment in a very civil and productive way. While the other person and I had a difference of opinion, the other poster THANKED ME for my well thought-out and civil response. Then you guys removed my comment. Even the other poster was puzzled by it. It made absolutely no sense. It did not appear to be in violation of your forum rules, in any way. There was no belligerence. It wasn't insulting. It wasn't vulgar. We were TRYING to have a civil and productive discussion about a very important issue relating directly to the article.
I often wonder if some of your 'moderators' simply remove comments at random, without even bothering to READ them, simply as a way to try and make themselves appear busy and justify their paychecks. Perhaps you should look into it. I know that I'm not the only person who has had comments removed for no clear or justifiable reason. (Many assume that it had to do with a nefarious attempt to "censor" their ideas, but I actually don't believe that. I don't think that the moderators care about anything like that. I've seen HIGHLY offensive belligerent comments stand, while other completely benign comments get removed.
Honestly, this is not helping to make your site appealing to visit and interact with.
