I’d like to suggest an optional commissioner setting for Fantasy Basketball: a **weekly maximum games played cap for head-to-head leagues**.

The idea would be simple: commissioners could set a maximum number of active player-games that count toward a team’s statistics during each weekly matchup. Once a team reaches that limit, additional games would no longer count.

This would help reduce the advantage created purely by maximizing games played through streaming, while still preserving waiver-wire strategy and lineup management. It would put more emphasis on roster construction, category strategy, and deciding which player-games are most valuable.

ESPN Fantasy Basketball already allows league managers to set a Games Played Limit for head-to-head matchups, and I’m fairly certain Fantrax offers similar flexibility. I’d much rather see Yahoo add the option than be forced to consider ESPN, because ESPN fantasy is obviously garbage.

Ideally, this could simply be an optional Private League commissioner setting:

Our league has been running for 17 years, and this is a feature we would absolutely use. I suspect plenty of other long-running competitive H2H leagues would find it valuable as well.

Allow league to set a limit on games played per week

Nba has become a fortune telling lately, with all the injuries/rests. In some weeks, a manager plays 54 games meanwhile the opponent can only do 40 games. And it is happening more often lately. We must have an option to Limit the number of games played per week by a team in H2H leagues. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :)

Would love for there to be a games cap option for weekly matchups just like there is on fantrax. Right now, there's a lot of imbalance week to week for H2H matchups

Please implement a games cap for next basketball season. Otherwise, many of my longstanding league will switch to another platform.

I agree. Commissioners should have the ability to set a limit on games played per week.

Agree not sure what the guy two post down is talking about maybe he's in the league where there aren't that strategic and know how to circumvent things. With 4/5 pickups for the week, and no cap, teams are just stacking the deck. A lot of times it's strength in numbers, who has the most games, quantity over quality.

Please add this feature in. The player add does NOT account for this limit as stated in previous posts, as other teams have the ability to offset this and increase their games played as well. IN the playoffs this is an even bigger issue, as it is knockout and having a discrepancy of 5/more games does not factor into the skill of the team but instead the volume of games.

this is a non-issue. there is a games cap virtually baked in already with the player-add limit. there is a max somewhere in the low 50s for games that is impossible to go over with 4 player adds per week.

Adding a cap to each active roster spot would be nice as I think it adds some strategy stuff.

But an overall cap for the week is necessary IMO. When playing in a PTs league it heavily favours games played as there is no offset with percentage categories.

Please provide the option of an overall team cap or a cap on each active roster spot. Also, please give commissioners the ability to choose the limit number. (Leagues with deeper rosters will tend to want a higher limit than shallower leagues). Thank you!

Add a games played maximum. Almost every week it's whoever played the most games wins that week.

Please add this - evens the playing field.

WTH why are people crying in comments. Mad your opponent has players playing more games than you? Then add players from FA to catch up. Limiting max games per week is a ridiculous idea.

Max games played per week option is a MUST have option in. Fantasy Basketball H2H due to the NBA's schedule with lack if games kn several days.

Need to have a option for maximum players for the week head to head points league

We're considering other fantasy basketball platforms (Fantrax) because they offer max games per week in H2H leagues. Having a max games cap per week levels the playing field when it comes to imbalances in weekly schedules.

Playing 10-11 less games than your opponent removes any semblance of fairness. This is especially true during the playoffs when you can’t make up the wins the following week. I’m at the point of closing my two leagues if this doesn’t change.

As of right now, I am having to manually enforce game limit by benching down teams on Sunday morning. Having this as an automated feature would make my life way easier.

Please enhance to the H2H format.
