Rosters - Position eligibility requests 2024-25
Position eligibility requests for the 2024-25 season.
We will continue evaluating players for new positions going forward and make updates where appropriate.
Full list of updated players for the 23/24 season: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/playerchanges?type=pos
As of 10/4/23, we added the option for Commissioners to award position eligibility to players that haven't earned it by Yahoo Fantasy's standards yet. Keep in mind, this tool will only allow commissioners to add positions, not edit or remove them and you won't be able to assign Forwards or Defensemen with Goalie eligibility and vice versa. Commissioners can add new positions using the steps here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/position-eligibility-fantasy-hockey-sln7057.html

Mikael Granlund Nsh - C
He plays on the right wing on the second line. Cody Glass is the centre on that line. He should have right wing eligibility. -

Monahan has not only been playing RW but now left wing as well, definitely deserves some sort of wing wing eligibility, if not both.

Matthew Tkachuk has played LW and RW on a consistent basis for the Panthers this year. He should have LW/RW eligibility instead of just being a RW. Florida has played 8 games this year and Tkachuk has lined up as a LW for 50% of those games. He deserves to have both positions.

Andrei Svechnikov is listed as a RW on many sites and sees regular time as RW in both even strength and on the PP.
He should definitely be LW/RW.

Can you add RW eligibility for Jeff Carter who is currently playing on the 2nd line with Pittsburghs injuries.

Leon Draisaitl has both Winger and Center eligibility, however he plays 99% of the time as a Center. As proof, he is amongst the league leaders in Faceoffs Won every year, impossible to achieve if you are not a full time Center. His eligibility as W cannot be justified and gives him an unreasonable advantage.
Roope Hintz was both W and C eligible last year, which makes sense because he plays on a line with Pavelski and Robertson and shares the faceoffs duties with Pavelski. This year, they still split the faceoffs duties (similar amount of faceoffs taken for each player). However Hintz lost his W eligibility while Pavelski kept his dual eligibility C and W. It would be only logical that Hintz gets his W eligibility back.
Chandler Stephenson has been playing almost exclusively center this year at 5 on 5. It is difficult to understand why he is granted W eligibility.
Thank you!

Mark Scheifele has spent equal time playing Centre and Right Wing and should have C,RW eligibility. Proof shown below.

For a large portion of the season Nikita Kucherov has played on the left side and should see LW, RW eligibility. The percentage is shown here.

Evander Kane should have LW, RW. If Draisaitl has C,LW eligibility it only makes sense if Evander Kane has LW, RW due to the line they create with McDavid Draisatl Kane for the last 5 minutes of most periods or when they are down a goal. This line has Evander Kane on RW.

Add RW to Sean Monahan

Braden Point should be C/RW. Has been that in every year of Yahoo Fantasy hockey.

Martin Necas has 20 faceoff wins in 6 games played. He was C, RW last season and should be again.

Martin Necas
Recommendation: change from RW to C/RW
NHL.com and the Carolina Hurricanes official site list him as C, and he is currently alternating between C and RW during games. He has taken several faceoffs each game (including one game where he took 10).
