    Wanted to install yahoo account onto my wife new laptop,but was told I needed 6 digit Account Key verification code that we never installed & never knew about,because my wife hadn't updated her recovery phone number & also other email accounts we cannot get back in to her Yahoo account.So what now oh so clever Yahoo What Gives!!!!

    Agree. Too much and too many verification codes. Hackers can still hack email / phone numbers.
    NO use. Its a bother. Also "unexpected sign in attempt". When legitimate user signs in from a different device. Meaning Yahoo has your IP address stored. Different IP address raises an alarm supposedly. ( Tracking ? Keeping Tabs ? ).
