Remove the upvote/downvote system in the comment section
It's pretty common knowledge that Yahoo comment sections are absolute toxic dumpsters. Every discussion on any tangentially politics-related post inevitably gets incredibly polarized towards one political extremity. And the reason for this is the upvote/downvote system that is painfully easy to manipulate to steer the discussion one way or another. If Yahoo isn't going to do a proper job of moderating their comment sections and aren't willing to do away with it entirely (which is understandable), then please just remove the upvote/downvote system and just auto-sort the comments by most recent or something instead. All the upvote/downvote system does is push people in the middle farther to the left/right and I for one am sick of it.

Lmao Nancy it's hilarious how illiterate you are. There's a pretty big difference between removing the upvotes/downvotes and removing the comment section entirely. Learn to think for yourself and not be dumb as a bag of rocks.

Wish I could put thumbs up or down in this feedback thread. I would give T a thumbs down, I would give Sheryl Bielenberg a thumbs up. I would give Peinny Garfield a thumbs up. The rest are so out of date that they do not matter in the present scheme of things.

This statement above comes across as one persons views are not appreciated. Unfortunately, most do not agree with them, but we appreciate the first amendment and would like to see all views of people. Nothing is worse than going to Facebook to have commentary.

The Yahoo comments section is toxic and filled with trolls. About half of Yahoo's news articles are click bait to entice others to rage about it in comments and attain conformation bias via thumbs up. This has lead to group think and these comments are fundamental to what is driving America apart. Groups are participating in group think on anonymous, un-moderated boards filled with trolls. Do you not think this is dangerous to society as a whole? I'm abandoning using Yahoo due to this. It is toxic on my personal life because I don't want to believe there are such sick people all over America and because it is toxic on society - all of this just so Yahoo can get increased profits/viewership.
