No you don't. You have a first ammendment right to have your speech protected from the government, not to make stupid comments on a web page.

Funny how Yahoo won't let any comments be posted on political matters. Now that the truth is coming out about Coronavirus (looks like it did originate in a lab) and Immigration (Harris telling immigrants not to come to the US), us on the right, can't post anything. We had to listen to 4 years of the Left making awful unfounded claims about Trump, and now that Biden/Harris are doing the same or that "theories" about origin of COVID were supposedly not correct, are now true, we are unable to share our thoughts. How convenient! It's no wonder no one wants to own or have anything to do with Yahoo! You have moved waaaaaaay too far to the Left.

@STEVE COWEN: What Yahoo is actually doing, is keeping 'us' from revealing their lies and one sided, misleading, un-sourced bull squat!

Yahoo had no choice - Their news and media content is full of lies and misleading propaganda! I worked for USA Today for 14 years and have worked in the media for 22 years - Trust me, they are lying to their viewers!

It's obvious the reason you halted "Temporary" (it's been over a year...not truly temporary) comment feedback is simply due to the fact your Liberal/Left Wing voice would be crushed, pulverized, and destroyed by more intelligent people on the Right. Hence, your ilk is essentially a hoard of "Kitty cats."

Mike Hodges commented
If you are going to continue to push left wing ideology and let any reporter with a news feed post 1 sided liberal articles that bash half the country then you should let readers comment. It is clear that left leaning outlets are attempting to silence anyone with a different opinion. Truth is the majority of this country does not agree with things like boys paying girls sports , BLM, cop bashing , critical race etc etc etc. You are clearly pandering to the minority instead of listening to the majority.

I posted a comment on a sports article. I got 4 immediate email messages back from Yahoo, the first 3 emails were telling me it violated their "policy" and it would not be posted.
The 4th email from Yahoo said it was "approved".
This is America, we have Free Speech, read book for goodness sake.

Quote: "create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions". When is this going to happen? I find it funny that Yahoo news uses quotes from other people on other news sites (twitter, etc...) for their stories, but won't allow people to have a voice on their own news sites.

Yahoo needs to stop censoring their readers comments from Yahoo's news post, why have they stoped??

So the very first AMENDMENT of the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is the freedom of speech !! But Yahoo dose not agree with it ? Are you American ? You don't believe in free speech ? So you want to post only what you want and nobody else's opinion matters ? I bet you like the part of the 1st amendment that gives Freedom of press !! Are you smarter then George Washington ? How about Thomas Jefferson , James Madison , John Hancock ? Wait what about Ben Franklin ? You must be smarter than him right ? STOP being anti American and restore the comments section !!!!! You can't just pick out the parts of the first amendment that suits you and your needs !! There is a reason people all over the world want to come to America it's to get away from people who want to control them and take away their RIGHT to free speech !! To get away from people like YOU @YAHOO !!!!!!!!!!!

the medal of Freedom. She has worked harder than any one else to get
voter's rights other than John Lewis. She has worked in his shadow and
it has shone in his light. So please, Pres. Biden, honor her for the work
that she does and continues to do for us and every one. We are none of
us free until we are are free, and she is an usual human being with many rays of light shining from her and I admire her greatly. -

Hey, and ******* yahooees! Start grouping all the comments that are saying the same thing rather than giving them each a unique number! May when the time comes for your firing.....and it will come the accumulate all the comments that could have been added together so that you would have to get off your *** and do something, be the criteria by which you are fired....along with your ********* bosses!

Please return the comments they are valuable in that they allow stories that lean one way or the other to be balanced by opposing thoughts. by not allowing for differing opinions all that is presented is the Yahoo editorial staff view on an issue and diversity of opinion is lost and the intellectual diversity suffers

Discourse has shut down nationwide. Right now, My brother and mother are basically not talking to one another over politics, and current events. I am now acting as an intermediary between them due to me being open minded and (mostly) centrist. Without vigorous discourse and (sometimes heated) discussion, our nation will fracture more. Stifiiling the free exchange of ideas, opinion, and airing grievances, and yes, disagreeing with one another, the divide in this nation will get wider day by day. Sweeping the discussion under the rug solves nothing, it only makes things worse. My experience may be anecdotal, but shutting people out of the public discourse is the last thing that should happen right now. Today the environment is divisive, but without discussion, even if that discussion can get unpleasant or rude, the divide can never heal. we NEED to discuss these things. Being a forum that is publicly accessible, it is your responsibility, nay, your OBLIGATION, to allow such discourse. Closed comments only contribute to the problem, and the result will be YOUR burden to bear due to your indifference. YOU will be to partly to blame for what this country becomes because YOU opted to silence people rather than let them express their opinion. Free society demands discourse.

Not sure why your editors decided to do away with commenting on news items, etc. but it was definitely a bad move. You have no fear or restraint when it comes to putting politically biased news items and stories on here but apparently you prefer that nobody else has an opinion. To me, this takes Yahoo down a notch and makes them no better than any other browser out there. Perhaps that what we all need.....a new browser!
