It’s very frustrating to click on a news headline only to learn that if you want to read the article, you have to subscribe to the publication. Do you get a fee from the publication for including this type of practice?

I couldn’t agree more. I would like to see Yahoo stop hiding behind their screens and give an honest explanation of the “No Comments” decision besides the blather that they put in fine print. Honestly, as nature abhors a vacuum, Yahoo users will depart in droves when somebody builds a site to compete and also allows comments on the content they offer-up.

Stop turning off commenting. The way commenting is displayed at the end of an article is more than adequate to segregate the article itself from the comments, if Yahoo is worried about a reader’s “experience”. Nobody is forcing any reader to enter the comments section if they don’t want to or are concerned about being offended.
