a malicious or a "false alarm" ad that appeared on Yahoo
I just this evening clicked on an ad on Yahoo (yahoo.com) that was addressing foods that may be harmful to the kidney. As I clcked on the link, I immediately got a warning (both visual and an audio message) (from MS, I believe) saying that the site was highly suspect and that personal information was at risk and that re-booting would result in loss of said personal information. I have Norton AV and I simply re-booted and ran a scan. It seems that this ad has already disappeared but my point is that it never should have made it on to the website to begin with, whether it was a spoof or not. Some users might have been persuaded to call the given number on the message with catastrophic results. These kind of "ads" should not be here in the first place...not funny at all.
