search emails
How do I search for emails within a specific folder? I could do it within the old Yahoo! inbox.

If you need to find an email fast, searching your mailbox is the way to go. Enter simple search terms in the search bar or locate hard to find items using Advanced Search.: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/new-mail-for-desktop/sln28067.html

Attach calendar for yahoo mail. Currently if i want to look for an email from the past i have to go 1 page at a time. I have over 20+ years worth of email in my yahoo account. If want to lookup some mail from say 2015, I can't access that mail. I will have to traverse 1 page at a time.
Calendar is their but its a separate entity its not connected to the yahoo mail acct.
What i mean is i am looking for a date wise search in yahoo mail.
Yes i know search is there. What if i want to see the emails from a past date. For example, I know that the mail is from 2015 or 2017. The greatest part is indexing by date in the sort section for each email box. I don't know if its hard to implement, but it is nice to have that as an added feature.

Seriously, this applies across the board with Yahoo. The search function doesn't work properly. The (new?) contacts format is horrible; the entire world alphabetizes by last name--except, it appears, Yahoo. The business of truncating emails, adding them together in a string and eliminating the individual emails is frustrating to work with and potentially dangerous if the string gets in the hands of the wrong person. Common Yahoo--you used to be better than this.

OH boy do I know what you mean. MY therory is that they get young wet behind the earss people to do some work, and they change things to try and justify the fact they were hired. IF IT ISN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.

If I need to search for a term which comes up heavily in email mass marketing I cannot exclude a particular sender / term. For example I receive marketing emails from williams sonoma. If I want to search for a brand name such as 'staub' I receive infinite williams sonoma mass emails and cannot find any non marketing emails. If I try to exclude by searching for "staub -williams" for example that simply does not work. Even if I try a more general term such as "staub -cookware" that sort of works until it gets back to 2017 emails at which point it suddenly stops working and shows tons of email again with the 'cookware' term.

GREAT POST!
If I have the word "credits" in my calendar, and I search for "credit," I get no results I'm like WHAT?!?!?! If I have "credits," and search for "credits" I also get no results b/c I left out the comma. SERIOUSLY???? And don't even get me started on the contacts .........and the lists, which aren't in alpha order............still...........after TWO YEARS!! -

"Search" should include the SUBJECT LINE not just the bodies of email. I could not find an email, sent today, 1/22/20, with word "Winterthur" in it. Searching for word "winter" did not work either. Very frustrating. VERY annoying. Now I don't know if I can ever trust your results - and I've been with YAHOO for ... 30 years??

When I search for partial phrases I don't get the emails with that phrase. For example, I am looking for an email that has the word "swing" in it. However I can't remember if the phrase is "swing trader" or "swing traders", or "swingtrader", so I just type in "swing". However, using just the term "swing", I don't get any results!!!! Why??? This is 2021 for god's sake. Yahoo!'s origins were search, so why doesn't search work????? You should be embarrassed about this. Please fix.

When I get a 100 mails from the same source then it is very diffcult to find individual mails without opening mail after mail. I of course mean the mails that I have read. The best way to find a mail is to be able to rename the actual mail. Reading a mail as it comes into the inbox and then directly renaming it so it is easy to find.

It's beyond me how a company that has its own search engine can't get it together to provide a functional search feature in email. Yahoo Mail search has not worked properly since the 'New' Yahoo Mail was forced on us.
I rarely find useful search results anymore. Many emails that should be included, because they have the search term in them, are not included.
Scrolling down to see more results often does not work at all, and I'm stuck with only the most recent, often irrelevant results.
There no longer is a count of the search results, so there's no way to know how many results to expect, so it's impossible to know if it's necessary to narrow down the search.
This makes Yahoo Mail increasingly useless. Please make it a priority to fix the search feature, and to include the number of found results.

I've had to copy and paste a previous post from someone else, because I was not allowed to vote or comment on the idea.
when using mail search, cannot filter results
On the old mail, it used to be possible to filter search results by sender, by folder, by date, but now it seems to be a simple search which is less powerful. -

The old search engine allowed detailed searches including to, from, folder and attachment. Please bring that back.
