UTF-8 encoding not working on Yahoo+Thunderbird
Since April the UTF-8 encoding does not work anymore when sending Yahoo emails via Thunderbird.
Each Italian wovel with a stress (àèéìòù) is sent as a double question mark (??).
It used to work until March or beginning of April. It still works with other providers emails. So please do not blame it on Thunderbird.

The workaround in this bug report, did solve it for me:

I also am using an IMAP account on thunderbird to access Yahoo. In my case sending an greek message in UTF-8 results in an message full of question marks on the receiving end.
The receiver may get the message with
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed
Content-Language: el-GR
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bitChanging the encoding to ISO-8859-7 doesn't solve the problem.
In this case the receiver gets:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-7; format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bitbut still only question marks are visible.
As with the original poster, other mail providers accessed in my case with latest version of Thunderbird (60.8) on Windows 10 Home (19.03) over IMAP with identical settings DO NOT show this behaviour!
With Gmail for example th receiver gets the message also with the headers:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-7; format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bitbut in this case the message is shown correctly with greek glyphs.
Over the web interface of yahoo an still able to sent messages in greek, but this is a major drawback.
