People insisting on me buying a phone just to access their services is one reason why I refuse to purchase one.
Instead, get a Google account and use Gmail to set up a yahoo mail account. No phone required. I might never get the old account back that I had when my old computer was stolen, because instead of asking me my security questions they insist on a phone number I don't have, but guess what? I don't care.
