  1. Deleted ALL E-Mails from my DEAD DAD After Inactivity

    I would love if I could access all of the e-mails I received from my DEAD DAD. However, they are ALL DELETED because I was "inactive" for too long. WHY is that your decision to make and not mine?

    Hi. We are sorry to hear about your loss! 


    If an account is unused or dormant for 12 months, it is deactivated and its emails are deleted, more info here: help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN2018.html Once emails are being purged during the inactivity period of the account, they are deleted from the servers as well. 


    While your recent login reactivated your account, the data deleted is not recoverable. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you! 

  2. stop catcha

    stop asking for catcha every time I log in. Even if I log in ons the same computer , the same day, the same location. Security is good, but you are overdoing it. And even sometimes I cant go to my mail for over an (security) hour.

  3. "Please, try again in one hour"

    I use this account for my business. Very often, when I want to log in, it tells me: "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again in 1 hour" Meanwhile my business partner is waiting for me to reply, or connect to a video call and the link is in my inbox. Very annoying.

    Thanks for bringing this to our attention. That sounds familiar. Yahoo may at times enforce a login wait to help ensure account security and privacy. There's no way for us to bypass this in the contact center, so we recommend waiting the prescribed amount of time. It's usually fairly short and you can then try logging in again. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

    Filter text is not removing html formatting before comparison. For instance, a word formatted bold will not match the same word manually entered.

  6. Why are some critical messages never delivered? This is an old problem and it's getting worse.

    Not receiving critical emails! AGAIN! So, I want to verify my email address with Lyft. They send me an email with a code, but I am not getting it. Yes, I checked in the spam folder and it's not there either. What the **** do I do now?

    I had the SAME issue with emails from two different landlords/leasing offices, several years apart. How likely are they to trust you if you tell them "I didn't get your email". And what is the point of using Yahoo mail if they are going to selectively block some of the most important…

  8. re-enable addendums

    I've typically always signed up for services by using my email with an addendum. i.e. email+addendum@yahoo.com

    This is a feature that used to work, and still currently works on many other platforms like gmail, iCloud, and outlook; but now no longer works on yahoo. It had made me miss many emails and has caused me nothing but problems to not have such a universal feature.

  9. Block sender

    What happened to "block sender". I used to be able to check all spam emails, click on the 3 dots on the right of the actions and get a drop down with block senders as an option. Click on that and they are all blocked at once. Other option was to individually block each spam email, a more tedious task but at least could block. Now both blocking methods are gone. WHY? I get the same obnoxious phishing emails daily, along with weird email ads for things I would never want. How do I make it go away?

    Hi. If the limit of 1000 blocked addresses has been reached, the option will disappear from the drop-down. 


    Spammers are constantly evolving their practices and blocking their email addresses does not help, as they are mostly sending emails from spoofed addresses or they send the same content but from different email addresses, which makes it look like they are coming from the same email address. 


    Marking them as Spam teaches your personal filter to recognize them as Spam. I'm sorry there is no quick fix for this issue!

  12. Remove mailbox from mailbox list without erasing contents of mailbox

    I added two other mailboxes (both Yahoo) to my original Yahoo mailbox, so there are 3 mailboxes in the list. This was convenient for my family for a while, because one person could logon and see all three inboxes easily. However, circumstances have changed, I want to remove or disconnect one of those mailboxes from the view. I see an option to remove a mailbox, but the warning next to it concerns me. It says that it will permanently remove all messages and data.. Does that mean that emails in the disconnected mailbox will be erased? I have had one…

    Hi. That message refers only to the fact that those emails that you were seeing in the same mailbox will no longer be there, but these emails will not be deleted from their original email accounts. You can contact us at help.yahoo.com if you need additional assistance. 

  13. A pain to get Outlook and Microsoft mail to access yahoo mail. endless security hoops to jump through then the **** think just wont work tot

    get rid of all those security hoops make it simpler and setting up Outlook and Microsoft mail is a pain in the **** in the end I got sick of you requesting codes to my smart phone and email then paste this copy that paste it again we don't recognise this device!!! bloody **** I have been using this device for years then you must change pass words which then means yahoo wont work on my other computers and I have to jump through rings to set the mail clients up again because you insist on a new password on…

    While ads on mobile can't be hidden, you can do the following from your desktop web browser to temporarily hide them. A new ad appears if you refresh the page or perform some actions.


    Most ads - Click the X or Options icon to remove that specific ad and provide feedback.

    The right-side ad - Click Stop seeing this ad to temporarily hide the ad.


    Alternatively, you can permanently remove ads by purchasing a Yahoo Mail Plus subscription.

    Verify that you have the exact address in the blocked address field. Also keep in mind that emails filtered as spam will bypass any filters on the account and go straight to the Spam folder.

  20. Incorrect Weather Location

    Weather location is wrong. It detects my San Jose, CA location correctly but place me in New York when the page is refreshed. This happens with every machine and browser I've tried.
